Engine will not stay running

I bought this car at an auction and it was driving good until I went to the store and then they had it towed off and when I went to go get it it would not start. It was got it started it wouldn't go over 40 RPMs and now it starts but it won't stay on and just shut off right away.

Hi,

If the check engine light is staying on when it is running, have the computer scanned for diagnostic trouble codes. Here is a video that shows how that is done:

I realize most people don't own a scanner, but often times a parts store will do it free of charge. Do this and let me know what is found.

Also, it could be a few other things. For example, a weak fuel pump, partially clogged catalytic converter, and so on. Are there any odd smells or sounds? Could you record it running and upload it for me to hear?
