1997 Isuzu Rodeo Question 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive 190000 miles

Hello, I have a 1997 Isuzu Rodeo.

Isuzu Rodeo S 1997
VINs: 4S2CK58E3V4302598
Motor Number: 486088 2600CC

The car is currently in Costa Rica and a mechanic has told me that there is a leak in the power steering system. I would like to buy a replacement part here in the USA because the mechanic cannot locate the part in Costa Rica.

Here is what he says needs replacing:
Bulbo de presion de aciete del sistema de dirreccion hidralica.

I know nothing about the power steering system of my car. Can anyone point me in the direction of what part to buy and where to buy it?

Thanks.

Hello,

Ok, I have tried a few different translators and this is the closest thing I can come up with""Bulb pressure aciete Address hydraulic system" and figure it is either the Pressure Hose or the Pressure Switch.

Thanks for offering assistance. I don't think it's the hose because we had that replaced last year and hose parts are readily available. Is the switch located at the end of the hose, near the bottom of the car? That is where the leak is coming from. Can I purchase just a switch? Could it be the power steering pump?

Thanks again for your help.

The switch is mounted in the pressure line usually near the pump but could be near the Gear Box.

It could be the pump he is talking about. Maybe that is what "Bulb" means. Cannot get "aciete" to translate which may help more.

Aceite is oil but in this case I think he means power steering fluid.

"Bulbo" may not translate well when coonsidering technical items. "Bomba" is pump and maybe that is what he is referring to, the power steering pump.

Does the switch come attached to the pump? Maybe I should try to find a pump and switch and bring both down to Costa Rica.

I really appreciate your assistance. Thanks.

No the Power Steering Pressure Switch is in the High Pressure Steel Line. And you should be able to pruchase it separate from the Line.

Getting the Pump and Switch would be a good idea. The only other thing I can think that is might be is the Power Steering Gear Box.

The Gear Box is mounted on the inside frame rail on the driver side toward the front of the vehicle.

It looks like this...
