1995 Isuzu Rodeo Question Slaming into gear

What could be the problem when at times (not all the time) especially in the morning - causes the shifting of 2nd and 3rd gears to SLAM into gear - it will shift but very very hard - also - it does not last - I can park the car and let it sit for the day and the next day it will not do this. Not sure if the transmission is the problem or not - HELP

Traansmission or transmission cotrol problem it sounds like.

What does the fluid look like? Clean and pink?

My 98 V6 does the same. One day it shifts hard another day it is fine. For some reason when I check the oil level and it is low is when it happens. Adding oil to the top of the mark seems to cure it. It doesn't make sense to me but it works.
P.S. If you do get another "cure" please post it. Thanks
