My engine sometimes doesn,t heat, or gets hot . It seems to be using coolant. could it be a thermostat?

Hi alfonse albert,
If coolant is getting lost, there must be a leakage somewhere. You need to find the source.
The temp gauge sometimes does not register when the sending is not accurate, it needs to be immersed in coolant.
