Intake manifold

I took the intake manifold off and there is a hole between the two round holes and I am wondering if that is a blowout as it is rough and looks like it blew through.

Where does the hole go? It may be a piece blew out or might be part of EGR system.

I looked up the EGR and that is what attaches to the side of the holes.
