Working on passenger side CV axle replacement. Got the old axle out. Can't get the replacement one into the transmission. Shaft on replacement is too big. Tried three different ones. Same results. There appears to be a sleeve where axle should go in. Is that sleeve suppose to come out, be replaced on the axle, then the whole unit fit into transmission?

Hi,

There shouldn't be anything there that needs to be removed. Are you sure they are giving you a part for the manual transmission? Is it possible for you to get a few pics of what you are doing and upload it for me to see?

Here is the OEM part number. See if the parts store can cross-reference it to confirm it is the correct one they are giving you.

Here is a link showing how to replace one in general. See if anything helps.

I attached the directions for removal and replacement specific to your vehicle below. Take a look through them and see if anything helps.

Let me know what you find.

Take care,

Joe
