Hello again, still dealing with this demon car. Neighbors son took the ignition switch off of it to change it to see if that is why it wouldn't fire. He can't figure out how to put the new switch back on (ignition switch, not key and tumbler.) So I was asked to see if I can get it put in. The problem is I didn't see it removed or how it was positioned on the steering column. So I am also not sure how to install it yet. Would you have an image or could point me to an image of how and where it sits on the column? To me it looks like it can only fit one way, but it wont bolt that way and the actuator rod is now where near the slide part of the switch if it's mounted that way. Thanks in advance!

Good afternoon,

I attached a picture for you to view. The switch is mounted to the column lower end by two bolts. You can move the switch up and down the column with the rod inserted into the switch to get it to align with the bolt holes.

That was the ticket! Thanks! Got it on, but curious as to what the rod #84 in the picture is going into? What does that part of the switch do?

That mounts on top of the ignition switch.
