Over the past 6 months it's been getting more difficult to start the car. Key goes in fine; switch turns, car often doesn't start. Not the battery or the terminals. I have to jiggle the key a few times before it makes the connection and activates the starter. Now it's taking more tries to get the car started. Please advise on the steps to diagnose. I think it might be the ignition switch.
The goal is to keep the key and ignition lock but change out the cylinder or ignition switch or?
Thanks in advance for your advice.

Hi,
The first thing I would check is to make sure everything is tight. If it is, then I suspect it's the switch that is wearing out internally. However, confirm there is nothing loose first.
I attached the directions below for replacing the switch. Use this to remove and inspect.
Let me know what you find.
Take care,
Joe
