The other day, I went to start my car, and as I put the key in, it seemed to go in a little further than usual. When I turned it over, it didn't recoil back to the normal position, so the car kept grinding like I kept the key pushed all the way forward. I had to jump out and disconnect the battery, to get it to quit. Now, to get it to start, I have to zap it with the battery. The ignition switch is stuck on. How can I fix this?

It sounds like the tumbler is bad and needs replaced.
