My truck was stolen, after I recovered it, the ignition was drilled out and housing was damaged. Went to wrecking yard and got ignition switch, housing with key. However I don't have the key so I got a replacement cylinder. So my current setup has factory ignition switch, wrecking yard housing, doorman cylinder. It would only start for a second then stall. I been watching pass lock reset videos but no help. My dash doesn't even work so my security light doesn't even go on. Any tips?

Hi,

Bear with me. I'm not sure what all was done at this point, so I have a couple of questions. First, is the security light staying on at all times? If so, what happens if you allow the key to remain in the run position for approximately 10 minutes? Does the light turn off?

Next question. You mentioned the dash doesn't turn on. Are there any electrical components that are powered via the ignition switch that are working?

If you look at the attachments below, they include the directions specific to your vehicle for replacing the ignition switch. Take a look through them to see if there is anything you missed.

Let me know.

Take care,

Joe
