Fuse blows when ignition put into start to crank engine. It is fine when just in run or accessory position. Right side of fuse indicates power when tested w/light tester, but left side does not. I have replaced the ignition switch. IGN C fuse in under hood fuse panel good and lights up when tested. I am having trouble tracing where short might be located. I read the wiring diagram to be that the short would be located between IGN C fuse and IGN 0 fuse. With the ignition switch having been replaced, this leaves the direct line from the under hood panel to the ignition switch. Is this correct? There is a yellow wire from the under hood fuse panel that runs through the ignition switch and to the IGN 0 fuse that does not light when tested. How can I tell which wire this is and might it be the culprit?

see the two pics one goes to powertrain module under hood and other to trans. it could be at junction block as well. try to get a circuit breaker to temp install while checking it as well as a compass to run along wiring, if wiring is screwed up it will drive compass crazy. it's a pink wire see pics.

Hi,

If the fuse is blowing as soon as it's installed, there is a dead short at some point. Check for shorts at the box and near it. If you do it in the dark, you may see a spark indicating the short.

Let me know what you find.
