Brake light problems

I have a 2001 ford Taurus and my brake lights do not work at all I have replaced the brake light switch and new bulbs looked at the wires but another thing is when I check the power at the brake light switch with a test light I have power on both sides of the car.

Try this disconnect the brake switch and put a jumper wire-did the light come on if not you might be looking at a ground problem-keep us posted

Ok I tried using a jumper wire it didn't work I have to look at the ground a little better I will keep you posted.

What catafina said is just a test for brake light switch what you replaced. Check wires in pic at t/s switch the one on top is from brake light switch and others are to light. If they all work then check ground at taillights and for a broken/chafed wires leading to them.

Stick with name brand parts, to many are junk from china
