My A/C went out recently my father-in-law and I recharged the system, during recharge, there was a burst of refirigerant that appeared to come up by the drivers side of the car even though the system is on the oppposite side. We tried to check the evaporator and cant figure out how to get to it. The cover under the glove compartment was removed but we cant see any further. Is there a diagram we can look at or can you give us a method for removal to check the evaporator.

Hi chods62,

Thank you for the donation.

The evaporator is inside the black box behind the glovebox. I have attached a diagram of the cabin filter for reference.

To remove it you would need to disconnect the pipes at the firewall, remove the holding clamp between the evaporator and blower motor.

The gas could have leaked from the evaporator and burst through the heater box at center and out to driver side.
