Engine Mechanical problem
2002 Hyundai Sonata 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

Was driving car, it lost power. I could barely drive it back home 2 blocks. After it lost power, it started making a noise that sounded similiar to running low on oil, but there is plenty of oil in it. The car will start, but it has very little power. What can I check to diagnose what the problem might be?

Aside from having the PCM scanned for codes. It may have a partially plugged exhaust system. Try loosening the exhaust before the cat converter to let it out. See if it runs better. It will be loud but if itis restrictive it will have power back

There are way too many possibilities to just guess. Need to have the codes read. Aside from basic tune up stuff and filters
