2004 Hyundai Santa Fe 6 cyl Automatic 105000 miles

how do i know if my santa fe has AWD or front wheel drive, when i bought it i was told it was AWD, but my mechanic told me it was front wheel, any easy way to tell?

Hi:
If it is AWD, look at the rear axle. AWD models will have axles running to each rear wheel and a differential in the center. FWD will only have a straight steel axle without a differential or cv joints at the end.

If they told you that is was an AWD, and it isn't, I would take it back. An AWD is more valueable than the FWD.

If you want, take a picture of the rear axle, upload it so I can see it, and I'll let you know what it is.
