I was trying to install a block heater in my 2001 hyundai and the frost plug, core plug fell into the engine. Any tips on getting it out?

First of all, I'm not an expert. Just another user.

Well. I don't know the particular engine you're working with, but most of the time, core plugs can't go very far if they do fall in. Can you feel the plug down inside the engine block, or is it without reach? If you can feel it, you may be able to just pluck it out.

If not, is the engine out of the car? If you have the engine on a stand, you might be able to rotate it to let gravity do the work for you. Also, the freeze plugs may be made of a ferrous material, and if they are, you may be able to lift it out with a magnet.

In any case, it's not going to be fun, so just take your time and don't rush things. Hopefully you'll be able to lift it out without problems.
