Can anyone tell me if an auto store can access all the info and codes for a diagnostic on a Santa Fe or can a complete one only be done by a Hyundai dealer?

Thanks

If u wanna full acess on all data n all codes --> obd2 codes & manufactures codes on all modules. Any1 who possess a hyundai scanner is the only tool. Keep in mind the kinda code reader available in most auto parts store only have capability of a standard code reading which is only limited to engine emission code mandated by the government. Other manufacture code on the network for engine, transmission, abs, body ctrl, air condition. Etc. Coder reader can not provide live data for a mechanic to monitor n evaluate what n how the system is doing. In another word. There are hidden codes that a generic code reader will not be able to detect. Clear enuff?

Thanks! Yup, clear.

Just what we thought, since we had to pay $89 buck aroos at Hyundai to get a dx done.

Got the codes from them, now back to the guy who broke the check engine light with the codes so he can fix what he didn't want to fix the first time.

Most professional scanners are built very compatible (90%) to original factory scanner. If whoever worked on ur car don't even equip with1. U should think twiceif this guy is a mechanic or parts changer. For a fact. Our shop work on almost any cars on the road. We employ 3 different after market scanners n some factory n 90% of the time we fix em' all. Hyundai is not a hard car to fix. Think again. Even it is free. What good does it do if the repair has no result?
