2002 Hyundai Elantra Turning the key before starting

SO when I put my key in my car tonight I turned it and right before the car started it made a weird whine. So I started the car and I had no problems. I turned the car off and reinserted the key and right before the car turned on it made the same noise. I dont know what the technical term for (when the key is in and the radio is on but not the engine) is. It made a weird whineing noise and kept going until I turned the car on. Should I be worried?

If the noise was not there previously and is starting, then you ought to have it checked. It could be something is wearing off causing the whining noise. Repair done in time would save you inconveniences if some item were to break down.
