I have recently been noticing that my car has been making a creaking noise or noise when I make left hand turns and sometimes right hand turns. I tried turning slower to see if it would not make the sound but still does. I have been looking at what other people say but it does really help. The closest answer online was that it might be the CV joint axle. I know I am due and am scheduled for a transmission flush and new belts but will this solve the problem? What else can it be?

I am driving the same model, same year, and I had the same problem at about the same milage and you guesses. On the left side, left turns. I've changed the left CV axel and the problem was solved. Then a couple of months later I've changed the right axel since I've noticed that the rubber on the CV axel was cut so it was only a question of time to hear noises again. It cost me about $140 per axel.

As far as the transmission fluid goes, I planned to do this at about 85,000 miles and 2 mechanics told me it is not necessarily until 100,000. (They did ask me about transmission noises but I had none) I did some research at the time and several people indicated that it is realy important to use a Hyunday original fluid rather than a replacement even it has the same characteristics. I don't think this is a problem that causes the noise. Let me know if you change the fluid after all at limaconsnake@yahoo. Com

P.S. My AC is blowing air with a bad smell now. Just so you know what is next for you at 89,000 miles. :-)))
