2000 Hyundai Elantra Gear Shifting

2000 Hyundai Elantra with 70,000 miles. The car runs fine when it's cold. After about 20 minutes of driving it thumps down from first gear when I come to a stop. It also stays in 3rd gear longer than usual. Between 3rd and 4th gear it shifts around 3800 - 4300 rpms instead of the normal 2500 - 3500 RPM.

I was wondering if you ever found out what was wrong with the car, I have the same car and same problem. I'd greatly appreciate any information. Thanks.
The master tec on here told me it was probably the shift solenoid sticking.
