Has just a slight shake at idle and it had some hesitation on acceleration

Recently purchased the car. The idle seemed a bit too slow. It has just a slight shake at idle and it had some hesitation on acceleration so I replaced the fuel filter. That helped the hesitation but if I turn on the lights and perhaps the rear defrost, at idle the motor revs will go up and down to where it seems it wants to die, but keeps running.

With no electronics running, it idles OK if not just a tad bit low.

Would replacing the Idle Air Control alleviate this?

Hello,

This does sound like an issue with the idle air control valve. Hyundai calls this idle speed control actuator.

Over time dirt and debris can build up inside the component and make it malfunction. Which can lead to high or low idle or not being able to change idle speed as the engine load increases. Which is what you are experiencing. As the idle speed is not getting adjusted properly when there is an increased load.
