I tried to remove the bottom bolt/nut of the starter attached to the engine with an adjustable wrench and the edge got stripped a little. I went to buy a flex head wrench only find out that it's stripped.

There is no one way to do it. What I normally do first is get a deep well socket that fits the bolt and get one that is one size smaller then the bolt or nut and hammer it on then use a ratchet to remove it. Clearly you will want to put pressure on the ratchet to try and hold it on the nut while you turn it.

If this isn't going to work, get a picture of the current state of the nut and we will be able to better direct you on how to get it out. Thanks

I'll just take it to the shop, there is too little room to work with, if the top nut also strip then I'm bumming.
