The battery on my 308 has ran flat and needs a jump. My wife's car is also a 308 so nether have exposed.
So is there a way I can connect these without removing the batteries as both are earthed to the body?

We do not have a manual on this vehicle so I cannot give you the specifics from the book.

However, the fact that you don't have a negative post is not an issue. You just need to connect the negative clamp of the jumper cable to any good ground source. So this could be a bolt on the engine block or a bolt on the frame rail.

Basically all the grounds on the vehicle are connected through the different metal components so you just need to connect to one of them that is accessible.

If you want you can get a picture of your engine compartment with the plastic covers removed, I am sure I can find a location that would work for you.
