I own a 1992 honda prelude 2.3 DOHC. On occasion while excelerating in any gear the engine feels like its being bogged down I lose speed then all of a sudden it rapidly picks up speed like a valve or something oped up and I take off. I already redid my exhaust from my cat back and my O2 sensor. Only thing left I can think of is my EGR vavle. Is there somethiing else that can cause this. I have no engine lights on. And this happens at any speed any gear I can be cruising on the highway at 65 and be fine this happens. When it happens in a lower gear such as 1-2 it spudder and then just take off.

Hi castro517,

To test if it is the EGR, disconnect the EGR vacumn hose and plug it. Test drive to confirm if problem is still present.

Other possible areas are spark plug, its wires, distributor components and the throttlr position sensor.
