Hi kevin luu,

When parked over long period of time with no activity, the IAC tends to seize and the valves would not move resulting in the code and engine surging.

You need to take the IAC out and try to see if you can get it moving by spraying some lubricants into the valve bearings and cleaning the valve. If it fails to response, you need to replace the IAC valve.

HI, I checked with dealer regarding the idle air control valve in my van they told me that there is not such name call idle air control valve in this vehicle. They said maybe rotary air control valve or rotary solenoid IAC system?
What is different between those 3 valves?
How do clean it? Thank you

Hi kevin luu,

It is those smart alec trying to be clever. Those are referring to the same item. Just that the systems operates differently. IAC is the general name commonly used so as not to be confusing.

Remove the air intake hose and spray some carb cleaner into the lower air passage inside the throttle body. Allow the carb cleaner to soak for a while and then try turning ignition switch on and off a few times to allow the valve to try to work itself free.
