My car listed above, CVT gear has transmission problems, “while in running condition in D mode sometimes the green light D starts blink. Today checked and diagnostic showed trouble code p1890. There is no way of knowing when that may come again. Could be in a day or in a week. That is why I would like to make arrangements to take care of it for solution before that happens again.

Is this serious?
Do I need to replace the transmission system?

Hi,

Interestingly, the code P1890 isn't indicated for your vehicle. However, I know on Honda vehicles, it is related to a transmission pressure-related issue. I have a question. When that light turns on, does it feel as if the transmission is slipping? For example, do you notice the engine RPMs increase but the vehicle doesn't increase in speed?

Additionally, in most cases, the fix for this is to have the PCM software updated. On the other hand, it could require replacement.

Let me know if that is the only code you found and if you notice the slipping.

Take care,

Joe
