First of all thank you so much for your donation.I posted a diagram of the hood latch under the hood so you can see what were up against.AS you can see it's all enclosed so we can't just slip in screwdriver in to pop it open.So where did the cable break?Did the end just fray and break at the release handle? What i think would be the easiest and less destructive to open the hood.Would be to cut the outer cable housing off and use a pair of vise gripe's to lock on the cable itself then pull it to open it.How much inner cable did you loose in inches?

Hi,
It seems the cable is broken and came out from the latch completely when we tried to pull it to open the hood somehow. There is no part of the cable attached to the latch now. Thats the situation. Please suggest a way to open it.

If I get under the car, will I be able to see the hood latch?

Is there a way to get into the latch through the front grill?

You may be able to get to it from under the car when its on a hoist, use a long screwdriver to release the latch. Also see if there is a little cable left so you can grab it using a pair of pliers. These can be a little tricky but if you stick with it you can get it open.
