My Honda CRV drivers side headlight keeps burning out every 2-3 weeks. My fuses are all okay and all other lights work. Any suggestions. My warranty is up?

I have also a 2005 Honda CR-V. The left low beam headlight has burned out four times since last August. After inspecting the electrical system, the only thing that the dealer gives me as an option is to use a Honda bulb instead of a third party bulb.

See sam2000pres, they cleaned corrosion from the dimmer switch.

Hello,

This happens when the voltage regulator goes out inside the alternator allowing to high of voltage to be produced which takes out the headlight bulbs but to be sure here is a guide to help test and confirm the issue.

Please run down this guide and report back.

Both headlights are out. What could be wrong? Is it a fuse problem? Thanks.

If I were you I would get out your owners manual. Check the fuses for your headlamps. Then I would check one of the bulbs. If this is blown it will usually have a black soot on the inside of the bulb, another way to check this is to lightly tap the outside of the bulb with your fingernail, if the spring element vibrates your bulb is stuffed and the other one probly is too. But be careful not to touch the bulb with your hand as the oil on our hands causes issues with the bulb. If you know your stuff, then check the plug that plugs into the bulb has power then check it for ground. Headlamps not working can be a number of things and its not always an easy fix. Might wanna look at your relay too.
