96 Honda Civic dx speed sensor

I have a 96 honda civic and I was driving and the check engine light came on and my speedometer starting going crazy. I used a scan tool and it said speed sensor, so I replaced it cleared the code and the code did not return but I still have my problem also my lights are flickering. Is it a bad new sensor or cluster or alt. I am lost

Make sure that the new sensor its exactly the same as the bad sensor. And also be sure that has been adjusted or installed properly.

It is the same and went in the same way the old one came out. So I dont know

RollnDUBZ22- I have the same symptoms in my 1996 honda civic lx. I am stuck. The speedo and the flickering came on practically on my test drive after doing my timing belt and water pump. I assumed it was something I did, or possibly caused (bad ground, pulled wire from connector). Maybe a component coincidentally went bad when I was done working on the car. Where you able to fix your car? Please respond asap, thanks.
