I have a honda that sat for 5 months with a dead battery. It ran well prior to this but now it starts but does not rev when I press the gas. What could this problem be?

Hi uiop,

When revving, does it remain the same or it tries to rev up but stutters?

Any check engine lights on?

If the engine does not rev, it could be low fuel pressure, faulty Throttle Position Sensor, MAP sensor.

Doesn't even try to rev when I press the gas, and there are no check engine lights on?

Hi uiop,

If it idles and does not rev up, check the following

1. Throttle Position Sensor.

2. Fuel pressure.

3. Broken accelerator cable.
