Engine Performance problem
2002 Honda Civic 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive 116K miles

My honda crancks up good but once it starts to warm up it makes a sound like it wants to go off on me but it doesnt. At first it just did this in the mornings but the last few days it has been doing this every time I stop in a stop light. When it does this I hit the gas but the goes doesnt move at all after a few seconds it starts moving. I don't know whats wrong with it I have replaced the spark plug, battery, and alternetor lately.

Hi clt08,

There are a few possible reasons for this.
1. Idling speed too low.
2. Valve clearance too tight.
3. Faulty O2 sensor
3. Faulty Thtottle Position Sensor

Is the Check engine light showing. A diagnostic would be able to check if the O2 and TP sensor are working efficiently.
