We have just change the a new transmission and new transmission fluid to the honda civic and the car did actually run. But recently the vehicle just won't drive or reverse when we step on the throttle, and when I change it into park; the vehicle makes a loud screechy noise near the transmission. The engine do start though.

Take it back where you got it and have them checked the tranny thoroughly-who did the change over?

A friend of mine that is familiar with Honda helps change the transmission. He said that it could be some other parts near the transmission that is making the noise. Do I have to retake the transmisision out again and check it thoroughly? What could be the cause of the screechy noise because the car does not sound like it when it is on drive or reverse and it won't go, but when I change it back into park the noise came back. When we fix it and drove it around for like 20 mins to test the new transmission the car went pretty well.
