The temperture remains midway on the gauge but after a lengthy time the cooling fan does not try to run. I checked the voltage and it has none, for the fan. I change the relay out with another that I new ws working and this did not help. What calls for the cooling fan to come on and how do I make certain that this is the problem. I jumped out the relay and made the fan work. We recently had the timing belt changed at a local honda dealer and I am wondering if something did not get hooked up correctly. Thanks for your assistance.

Hi wblasiar,

It takes more than 20 minutes of running before the fan comes on and if the temperature is at mid point, it should be ok. Let it run a while longer and test if it comes on.

When engine is cold, check coolant level at radiator and reserve tank. If you had replaced the water pump, there is a possibility there are air trapped in the system.

When AC is turned on, does the fans work?

One fan runs when A/C is on not the other.I replaced the temp. Switch on the thermostat houseing and it seems to be doing Okay now, but there is still a smell of burning anti-freeze after a long ride home in traffic. Yes, the water pump was replaced when they changed the timming belt and no there is no signs of water leaving the radiator.

You need to check the fan that is not working. Either the fan motor is bad or you have a wiring or relay problem.

Coolant smell could be due to residue from repairs carried out or there is a leak somewhere.

Did you check the coolant level in the radiator?
