I tried the clutch switch jump with speaker wire and car still wont start.

Didn't know if there was any other usual problems to look into. The battery also dies quickly I don't know if that helps or if that is normal when a car sits for a few months without starting. I also have a little fuse box attached to the battery and have never seen that before and didn't know if that maybe causing problems as well.

The honda that I got was a car that the guy said he rebuilt the transmission and motor the car seemed like it drove fine, but I have heard that the tranmission ground wire sometimes is not attached correctly after rebuild jobs.

How it all happened:

One day after driving around I went to get some gas and when I tried to start, it made no sound at all as if I didn't push in the clutch. Before this happened when I started it it always sounded like it kinda made a chugging noise as if it was hard for the starter but then it would just start right up so I didn't think anything of it. The car also has battery power after I jump it and is able to push start it but It seemed harder and harder to get it push started so I stopped doing it so I didn't mess anything up further. I bought the car for $750 dollars and it has been sorta jimmy rigged so I don't know if that has something to do with the problem or helps out but I just wanted to add anything that could help make a diagnosis or at the least tell me the best way to go at fixing it without getting ripped off ( like taking something out myself and taking to place to be fixed or buying my own parts to take to a mechanic etc.)

Now if my problem is not the clutch switch could it just be faulty wiring or the starter. I have also heard that the cilanoid or distributor coils may also be a problem but I don't know how to go about testing or changing those out.

I am just looking for the best way to fix this problem should I have some one diagnose the problem and then have a mechanic take care of it or should it be pretty easy to fix.

Hi Brandon500,

If a vehicle is left stamding for extended periods, the battery would definitely go dead as it would be discharging slowly.

Do you mean you are not able to crank even if the battery is fully charged?

At bottom of post there is a link " First things To Check" link, click it for more info on how to go about diagnosing.

The car wont start even with full battery life and originally I tried to test the clutch switch and didnt know what else It could be. It wont crank at all when I turn the key nothing happens, but it can push started but it just wont start by turning the key. I was just curious of any other possibilities that I could look into.
