I have just bought a 1995 honda civic dx 2dr coupe from a friend and it only has 97000 miles on it. I'm pretty sure it has been sitting for quite some time. Ive been driving it and I just came across this problem with it. Everytime I accelerate about half way the car stutters as if someone is pressing on the breaks and then lets go. I changed the fuel filter, spark plugs, spark plug wires, and trans fluid a few days ago and it still has the same problem. Today I was going up a hill and it stuttered and then it totally died on me showing the battery light, and the oil light on the bashboard. I have no clue what is going on and it would be nice you could help me. Thank you.

Well does it start and run now?

If it doesn't start, check for fuel pressure and spark. Even if it does start and run, I'd run those checks as well. Weak spark can cause a hesitation, as well as low fuel pressure.

Yes it does start and drives but it is scary to even drive it you know. I mean goin uphill and it turns off kind of creepy. I replaced all of the spark plugs and wires.
