So I just replaced my cluch in my 1995 honda civic ex. And when I got it all back together and started to take it for a test drive I realised that the speedometer was not working so I took a look at all of the wiring just to make sure every thing was pluged back in correctly and it was then I checked to see if there was a fuse that had blowen when I pluged back in the battery after I had finish with the cluch but I could not find one that said anything about the speedometer or odometer so I though well maybe I had broken the spline to the speed sensor ( I think it is called ) so I checked that but it is still moving just fine so I though it was the sending unit itself but I replaced it and still nothing so I am bafold as to what it is. What I would like to know is there a fuse I am not seeing or am I going to have to rewire the harness that goes to the speed sensor?

edit: I forgot to tell everyone that my check engine light is coming on after about 10 mins of driving as well now so I am really scratching my head. And I did read the other post on speedometer but I had already done that in my case

Hi way2fast20,

The Check Engine Lamp.

I suspect the Check Engine Lamp is caused by the speedometer not functioning but you need to confirm it by connecting the SCS to get into diagnostic mode and count the flashes of the Lamp blinking. A code of 1 long and 7 short flashes would be it.

As to the speedometer not functioning, you might have broken one of the speed sensor wires near the connectors. You need to check for broken wires or loose connector pins.
