Hey I just rebuilt my 95 civic vtec virtually everything has been replaced, I have 160 miles on it. I changed spark plugs, wires, used dizzy, map, tps, ait, ect, fuel filter and checked timing with light. It boggs or stutters when accelerating around low rpms or up hill after the hill it will bog worse?I have no check engine lights or codes. When I give it more gas it bogs and smells like gas then takes off, BUT DOES NOT JERK. When it bogs it will go through rpms but wont accelerate much it only acts up on some take offs. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Ty :)

Hi dro85,

If engine is equipped with EGR, try disabling it by plugging the EGR valve vacuum and test if problem goes away.

Some models are equipped EGR with whereas some are not so I am not able to say if yours has any.

Faulty PCV would result in higher idling speed but would not cause the bogging.

Apart from EGR, othere components that can cause power losses are:

1. Ignition coil.
2. Spark plug wires.
3. Fuel pressure.
4. TPS sensor.
5. Ignition timing
6. Valve timing, (timing belt installation).
7. O2 sensor.

Sounds good! Also forgot to mention it usually loses power after driving for more than 15-20 minutes. I will check this out!
