1993 Honda Civic Car Idle

I just had to replace the head of my 93 Civic because the camshaft snapped, after I replaced the head the idle now revs up and down. There is also a screech comming from the alternator belt I believe, I have tried tweeking the distributer with no luck. I would like to not take it into a shop because I am "automotively Challenged" and working to learn.

For the squeeking, remove the drivebelt, does it stop?

As for the idling make sure you have NO vaccum leaks, to check for them use a can of starting fluid or carb cleaner and spray around the manifold and the air hoses, does idle chagne?

Make sure coolant level in radiator is full.
