Hona Accord Child safety switch/borken door handle

The exterior door handle on the rear driver side door broke when I tried to open it and the child safety switch that prevents the interior door handle from functioning was activated. Now I have to replace the exterior handle, but can't open the door from the inside in order to remove the panel. Any ideas?

Slim Jim the door with a flat hooked metal, it will take some time, patience and finesse to keep from further damaging the door and window components
