D4 Indicator Light

1992 Honda Accord, 190,000 miles, don't know engine size. My car recently started acting funny, the D4 Indicator Light started blinking no matter what gear I'm in. It starts out driving fine in first gear, but when it shifts to second, it does not want to accelerate, especially going up a hill (it only goes 20 to 25 MPH up a hill). When I am driving the RPMs stay at 2000 as long as my foot is on the gas, when I coast it goes down to around 1500 RPM. When I am stopped, it idles at 200 RPM. The owners manual says that when the D4 indicator Light blinks like that it indicates a transmition malfunction. My question is, what kind of malfunction could it be? And how much would it cost to fix? I don't think it is worth fixing if it is seriouse, but this car has lasted me quite some time and if it is something simple, I'd like to keep it running.

Have you done the obviouse and checked the transmission fluid level and the color of the fluid? Try that first.

The fluids are fine, I actually took my car into the shop and had it scanned. There are still a few codes I am not sure about, but the main thing was the shift selenoid and a relay to the computer had to be replaced.
