To follow my subject, is its scan tool for Toyota necessary when troubles happen? I heard Toyota is so strong that it is hardly repaired.

Hi there,

In a professional sense the scan tool is a very important piece of equipment, with good quality units you not only retrieve & clear codes but you can get live data from the ECU this is a great source of high quality diagnostic information, for the average bloke in the street it is not a necessity as you can do basic on board code retrieval with Toyota's systems quite easily.
