2002 Honda Accord Engine management light repeatedly coming

The eml repeatedly kept coming on and I kept getting it checcked by a mechanic but with no success. The mechanic has finally found that the tappets were too tight and causing a miss-fire on start up, but the problem is that the light does not go off when the engine heats up. My other qestion is that if the prob was happening for a while (2months) and then was sorted could der be any underlying probs. Any help would be much appreciatted

Hi there,

It may be worth while having a leak down test done to make sure that theres not a valve problem still, if the check light is coming on, there should be a set fault code logged in the ecu, the other thing that they can do is check for live data when the light is on, they may pick up the problem that way.
