I have a 2001 Honda Accord EX 4 cyl w/ 97,700 miles on it that was throwing a service code of P1166 which a mechanic friend of mine said was the front o2 sensor before the catalytic converter. I called around to price the sensor so that I could compare the prices with what he said to me. He said that the part would cost $260 when they said w/o seeing the car they said roughly $100-120. He said it was a much different sensor than most? I saw the part which a Bosch model. He said there are cheaper ones ou there, but they won't be as good and arent the best for the car.

So my question is. With my car w/ 97,700 miles on. Should/ do I have to, pay this much and with my car not being all that new, will it be worth the extra money to get the Bosch sensor to give my life more "life" than a cheaper model sensor?

At first, he got this other Bosch sensor that he said would be $160 but it didn't fit my car right so he had to get a different one? I am just trying to make sure I am not getting put thru the ringer.

Please help. Oh and the car is a federal not a california. Whatever that may mean?

Thanks----Jill F.
