Brakes problem
2001 Honda Accord 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I got my brakes changed not long ago and now I have a "squeaking" noise when I touch the brakes. It happens when I first push down on the brakes, but the harder I push it goes away. I've had them inspected by two different brake specialists and they can't find anything.

I was told it could be sand or something getting up in there, but it never happen until this last brake change. It's not consistent as well, the noise comes and goes.

Like I said it's the loudest when I barely press the brakes, and as I put more force when braking it goes away.

Any thoughts here?

Thanks for your help.

Hi there,

possibly glazed pads if they are a cheap pad, many cheap pads use a lot of resin to bond the brake material and this cooks and glazes up the pads, also hot spots on the rotors, were the rotors machined?

Hi Mark,

I had the pads changed by the second specialist that looked at it, that's what he thought "cheap noisy pads", so I had higher grade pads put on. The rotors where machined, one comment by the specialist was they probably could not be machined anymore (worn down).

Still got the same noise result after all that.

If the rotors are under sized, they must be replaced.
