The car was in an accident recently (a side impact around the left front tire area) and I got it all fixed cosmetically, took it to a mechanic, and finally took it to a Honda dealer for a checkup.

But from the very beginning, there has been a weird rattling noise coming from the left front area of the car and none of the people I saw can tell me what's wrong. They all say everything is fine.

I can hear the sound slightly when I start to accelerate, but after I hit maybe 15-20 mph, it disappears. After I hit the brakes, stop, and sit for several seconds (at a stoplight, for example), the sound reappears. But if I put the gear in parking, and let the engine run idle, I can't hear the sound.

No one knows what it is- please help!

Inspect the exhaust system's heat shields, and catalytic converter for any broken welds or cat being broken up inside.
