My car is a used car. It once stopped driving after the gas pedal was pressed too hard. It eventually started moving again after being pulled over to the side. I finally gave it an oil change and I believe several other types of engine filters and flushes were performed. After the oil change the car was driving really funny, it was kind of stopping and wouldnt really accelerate after the gas pedal would be pressed. However, it is now driving fine. It still jumps after the brakes are pressed. I have heard many times that my transmission isnt good. However, my main question and concern is whether or not it will be good enough for me to bring back to Connecticut from New York on the highway?

If the throttle or accelerator pedal is 'jumping' around and causing the vehicle to revv when you do not want it to, that is VERY dangerous and can easily cause an accident.

Take it into a shop before you go on your drive.
