1999 Honda Accord Poor Gas Mileage

I have a check engine lite with poor gas mileage it was 500 miles per tank drop down to 400 after a view weeks drop down again to miles 350 per tank, I was freaking out then I took it to a shop to have it repair. ! They've replaced VALVE, CANISTER VENT SHUT, I'd asked him and he told me that should takes care of the check engine lite & the poor gas mileage problems. 2 days after that I went back then they replaced VALVE SET, SOLENOID. ! Another labor and parts charged to my acnt:(. Check engine lite problems was fixed, but poor gas mileage problem is now worst around 300 miles per tank. It is really sad for me, cause I am currently unemployed. Could you please help me and tell me what have caused my car to have a really poor gas mileage, what parts need to be checked and replaced?

If that engine light keeps on coming back with a P0440 code (which I assume was your inital problem) The mechanic has not properly fixed the issue and he should resolve it.

If that light stays off for good, you may just need a tune-up or have a lazy oxygen sensor.
