1998 Honda Accord HELP!

I just bought this accord used and it ran fine for the first week. Now out of nowhere I was driving on the highway at about 60 and it started shaking and making weird thud noises. The shaking would subside if I accelerated but when I stopped accelerating it would get bad! If I was at a stop it would not shake. It began to scare me. The steering wheel started jerking a little bit to the right and left. I am unsure what to do. PLEASE HELP!

Did you hit something? The front wheels could be bent, bring it to a tire shop to check the balance of the wheels.

I havent hit anything, no. I'm not sure what happened. I was driving on the expressway and it happened after I had been driving already for about 10 minutes. I looked at the wheels and they seem fine. But then again I don't know anything about cars.
