I was involved in an accident in which I was going about 30 mph, and a car in the opposite direction was waiting for me to pass before he turned left in front of me. However, he was confused and thought that the intersection was a four-way stop, so right before I was about to pass him, he pulled in front of me. There is damage to the right front headlight, side, etc. I hate to bring up the fact that I'm a woman, but I know nothing about cars, except that I know how my car drove before and after the accident. It is currently being repaired, and I went to pick it up yesterday. I drove it first, because I felt it wasn't going to be fixed correctly, because it drove horribly. This is still the case. I feel a noise under my feet, and a popping, creaking, something rubbing together sound when driving. Also, when you look in the rear/side view mirrors, they are vibrating, so you can't clearly see out of them. Also, the car feels heavy when driving. It seems like I have to press on the accelerator harder to get it going, and it kind of pulls. The mechanic can't figure out what's wrong, but today he called and said he thought something was wrong with the left strut. He also said in his experience, this is from wear and not from an accident. All I know is that before the accident, my car did not have these problems. I am not going to settle until my car drives right, but I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions. I just don't want to get screwed, excuse my language. Thanks. (Car has 165,000 miles)

Did they check to see if the body was straight and that the frame was not bent or damaged? The strut could be bad but given the problem you are experiencing if replacing it fixes the problem, the age should NOT be of a concern to the mechanic or the insurance representative. Even if the strut was bound to go out the next week, the accident caused this part to fail prematurely. The clicking and popping noise. Have them check the CV axles as well for any damage. Is this repair shop also an alignment specialist? Have they taken it to a professional to have it inspected for any further damage?
