Overview. Engine was replaced and has 149, 00 miles on it body has 238,000. Had axles, ball joints, struts, calipers, front brakes with rotors and back breaks all replaced. Tune up, wheel alignment, motor mount repaired and wheels balanced. Trans went out had replaced. Now I get it back and interminttenly between 1000 and 2000 RPM's the upon exceleration steering wheel shimmies a bit. Since it is intermittent when I bring it in they can't find it. Happens when going around 40-45 miles.

Hi casha62,

If vibration happens with slight acceleration at 40 - 50 mph it could be caused by CV shaft inboard joints out of balance. Check for lack or lubrications or wear.

Other possibilities are wheel bearings and steering linkages excessive free play due to wear or improper torquing.
